October and a new car

October 9, 2009

It’s already October, can you believe it?  The Halloween decorations are up, Tony bought us pumpkin ice cream, and trick-or-treaters are right around the corner.  What will *you* be for Halloween?

Big news for October. We bought a new 2010 Ford Fusion.  This is a super nice car.  We have both enjoying driving it.  My trusty Saturn turned 10 this year, and had 116,000 miles on it.  I know by some standards she was still a baby, but what with tollway driving, I thought it was time for something new.  So there you have it.   I feel blessed that we could afford to buy a new car in times like these.  God watches over us and has blessed us with good jobs!

Happy Halloween everyone!

So we missed August did we?

September 10, 2009

So here it is,  September 10.  Looks like we missed an August update!  Probably the biggest thing we did in August was visiting St. Louis to see Mary Poppins (and the Gateway Arch).  Did you know that the Arch was built to commemorate Thomas Jefferson and the westward expansion of the United States? Neither did I, but I do now! Tony and I had a wonderful visit, took some great pictures, and are really looking forward to going back.  And Mary Poppins was super! Oh, and I went to a Cubs game with Tony ( Go Cubs!) and we went bowling with friends.  Nice! So here we are in September.  What’s in store for us? Who knows!

Wonderful Kentucky trip

July 9, 2009

Well, we hope that you all had a wonderful 4th of July, whether with family or friends, watching a parade or watching fireworks, or just plain old relaxing.  The Colemans had a very relaxing weekend in Kentucky.  We played board games, sat out on the porch and talked, visited Tony’s grandma Fannie.  Couldn’t get much better than that!  We had a little picnic on the way to see Fannie, and that was fun too! Nothing beats a picnic.  Food just tastes a little better when it is eaten outside. :)   Enjoy the rest of your July everyone!
